Chapter 288: Deceived

“Be gone! He’s mine!” The wings that had once been Adin’s light and shield were now whip and thorn, barb and snare. Grinding fragments of his former glory underfoot, the newfallen angel fought with bared teeth and borrowed blade. “Tamaes would never abandon me!”

Nock and his brothers attempted to draw Adin away from his captive, but he held his own against the Fourfold.

From within the twisting cage of broken wings, Tamaes saw his mentor shoulder through the circle of bronze feathers. The look on Taweel’s face was enough to prove Adin wrong. He wasn’t furious. He was heartbroken.

  1. Arian says:

At least Adin’s ploy didn’t work.

Tamaes was unfurled himself before Adin’s wings shattered all over him, so that would be one obvious sign that he was still Faithful… and that Adin wasn’t.
