Chapter 286: Betrayal’s Kiss
“You’re in danger,” Adin whispered, pressing his hands over a deep gash in Tamaes’s arm.
“From you?” Noises filtered past the ringing in Tamaes’s ears. Thunder? No, it was more like hoofbeats.
“Always.” Adin’s hands shook, but his voice was smooth. “We belong together.”
“Can you walk?” He glanced over his shoulder and grimaced. “We need to hurry.”
Tamaes couldn’t bring himself to fight his brother, but that didn’t mean he would follow him. With a small shake of his head, he managed another, “Sorry.”
“Liar.” Adin kissed Tamaes’s bloody cheek and whispered, “I will make you sorry.”
