Chapter 283: My Brother’s Keeper
Tamaes grappled with Adin, anxious to prevent him from getting anywhere near the limp splotch of light on the ground.
“Still worried about Taweel’s tiny savior?” Adin asked mockingly. “Or were you hoping to be mine?”
Lowered gaze. Grim hold. Mute misery.
“You’re here, and that’s all that matters,” said Adin. “You and I belong together.”
“Do I mean so little to you?”
Tamaes struggled for words to explain his anguish. Staring into a face he knew better than his own, he choked out, “I have lost a brother.”
“Not really.” Adin smiled. “Because I’m going to keep you.”
