Chapter 282: Thrill of the Hunt
Omri clambered free of his hiding place and buzzed in tight circles, shrilling notes sharp as needles. Adin lunged and swatted the little angel to the ground.
Tamaes grabbed his wrist. “What are you doing?”
“Not Omri!” Tamaes hauled Adin across the room and slammed him against the far wall. “I will not let you hurt him!”
“Too late.” Prodding at the back of his head, Adin studied the dull smear on his fingers. “Far too late.”
Swallowing thickly, Tamaes repeated, “I will not let you hurt him.”
“Oh, brother.” Adin chuckled darkly. “He’s not the one I’m hunting.”
