Chapter 267: Pierced Through

Tamaes pointed. “I see something!”

A faint blur of green in the corner of an empty lot showed through the heavy veil of rain. Breaking into a run, Taweel called, “Valerian!”

“Here,” came the coughing reply.

They found Adin’s mentor sprawled amidst ragged weeds, the broken haft of a spear pinning his shoulder to the ground. Tamaes took a defensive stance while Taweel knelt in the mud and blood. “How did this happen?”

“Few could rival Adin in battle. Myself included.”

Taweel groaned. “He turned on you?”

Valerian managed a brittle smile. “Let us instead say that I disarmed him.”

The link between the creator and the one created is a unique one. You made Adin, and so you love him; no matter what he does, you can’t cease to love him. It’s because you love him that we love him too. And the fact that you already know what will happen doesn’t make it a whit less painful when it actually does.

“Are we still talking about my writing, Mrs A?”
No, Mrs Kinde. It seems we are not. ;)

O.O Eep! That’s him in ‘Rough and Tumble’! No doubt about it, that’s him.

I don’t quite see how the chronology works… but I guess pinning down ‘before’ and ‘after’ for events that happened in Time and events that happened in eternity isn’t exactly straightforward.

*sob* He was so beautiful, and so gifted. What can have happened to turn him from the light? :'(

      • Arian says:
