Chapter 199: Catching Up
They walked the rest of the way home. But not directly.
Every open meadow and empty garden offered an excuse to linger.
Adin teased Omri and tickled the little angel’s toes.
Taweel let Adin borrow his sword so he could spar with his twin.
Tamaes learned the names of all the newfoundlings in Valerian’s encampment.
As their stories grew longer, the distance between them dwindled away.
Together, Tamaes and Adin conquered any awkwardness that came with new beginnings. By the time Taweel led them to Loris’s door, they were back in unison.
