Chapter 169: Grooming
“Weft has a lighter touch,” whispered Tamaes.
Omri blinked up at him, all trust as he helped confine his hair.
Tamaes stole a peek at his mentor. “He seems pleased.”
The little angel brightened.
Taweel inspected the newly-forged weapon, testing its heft and edge. Finally, he said, “You used to want a sword. In the beginning.”
“Yes.” Tamaes ducked his head. “The opanim remembered.”
“Will you learn from me?”
“In all things, but especially in this.” Tamaes accepted his sword, bracing the heavy blade with both hands. “Only … is it too big?”
Taweel grunted. “You will grow into it.”
