Chapter 124: Row upon Row
When the Weaver brought out his gift, Tamaes gasped, “New tunics?”
“Full sets for mentor and apprentice,” Loris confirmed. “Their workmanship has been one of my greatest joys.”
“I helped!” Weft interjected.
Bronze threads gleamed richly against the soft luster of heavenly raiment. Taweel’s hand trembled as he touched Loris’s delicate embroidery. Row upon row, the stitches told his story. Finding and naming. His apprenticeship to Dorum. His mastery of sky and sword. Flight assignments. His calling. Piercing. Wandering. And then Weft’s mentoring. Omri’s companionship. And Tamaes.
“Will you accept it?” Loris asked.
Taweel bowed his head. “All of it.”
