Chapter 121: Mentor and Apprentice
The loss of a child had driven Taweel into solitude; now a child was leading him back into the throng. But was he ready?
The big warrior slowed to a stop and cleared his throat.
Tamaes gazed up at him, all awe and anticipation.
“Before I rejoin the hadarim ….”
“We,” the boy corrected.
Taweel grunted, then began anew. “Before we return to the encampment, I should speak to my mentor.”
His apprentice blinked, then brightened. “Weft?”
“Loris has long been my host. His home is my home.”
Slipping his hand into Taweel’s, Tamaes asked, “And mine?”
“We go together.”
