Chapter 117: Black Stone
Taweel sat down so fast, his descent to the ground probably qualified as a collapse. The sevenfold message reeled through his head while his heart banged around in his chest.
“Everyone else was Sent to a person.” Tamaes blinked several times, then swiped at his cheek with the back of his hand. “But I was Sent to a sword, and then Sent away.”
“This is my sword.” Reclaiming the familiar blade, Taweel studied the black stone newly set into its hilt. Letters cut deeply into its surface, spelling a single word. A name. The name of his new apprentice.
