Chapter 254: Not Entirely True, Not Entirely False
The demon smiled as he spoke of abominable things. Ethan was horrified, even a little frightened, but he stood firm. “You cannot touch him.”
“Neither can you,” Blight murmured.
Ethan blinked. That wasn’t entirely true. Under certain circumstances, he was able to get close to Zeke. But by the same token, couldn’t a clever demon interfere in someone’s life? Get close?
When Ethan blinked again, his tormentor was nodding. “You do understand! We understand one another.” Blight’s conviction made it sound like he knew what he was talking about. “Can’t you see? You and me. We are meant to be!”
