Chapter 216: Put Me Down
Along one side of the church foyer, a table with sigh-up sheets awaited volunteers, and Zeke was standing on tiptoe, carefully adding his name to one of the lists. Ethan checked to see if the boy’s ‘Z’ was forward or backward this time.
Jayce ambled over. “What’s this?”
“I can write my name!” his son boasted.
“These are only for volunteers.”
Jayce rubbed his chin. “It’s not a game. This is for a church work day.”
Zeke nodded. “I know. I can help!”
“Fair enough.” Without another word, Jayce added his name under his son’s on the list.
