Chapter 215: White Noise
A fan droned steadily. Shades were drawn against the sun’s glare. Other than the buzz-thump of a fat housefly searching for a way out, the house was quiet. Even Zeke. Ethan’s charge lay on the floor in front of the fan, his flushed face tilted into the stream of air cooling his sticky skin. Peaceful enough on the surface, but his Guardian knew better.
As Zeke poked with one finger, testing to see how close he could get to whirling fan blades, Ethan groaned, “Does he even think about repercussions?”
Conrad simply smirked and gave the fan’s cord another jiggle.
