Chapter 132: Quack, Quack
Ethan was supposed to be taking his refreshment when duty called.
Raz laughed as he bundled away their manna boxes. “Isn’t Zeke supposed to be napping in his cage?”
“Naomi moved him into the bottom bunk. He does not always stay.”
“Quack!” Zeke skipped along after his grandfather’s ducks. “Wabble, wabble wabble!”
Under the fence. Down the path. The boy was up to his knees in the duck pond before Ethan could hook his finger into a belt loop.
“Help is on the way,” Raz promised.
Tad jogged over and groaned, “Oh, Zeke.”
Ethan couldn’t have agreed more.
