Rough and Tumble, Chapter 121: Verifying the Message

Chapter 121: Verifying the Message

Ethan slumped on the floor in the kitchen next to Zeke’s play pen, Verrill sitting quietly at his side. The Messenger soothed, “Peace, friend. You found him. To think, the Fallen actually took such a name.”

“To be honest, he found me.” With a sidelong glance at his teammate, he asked, “What do I do?”

“Cut it out,” Verrill reminded. “Before it bears the fruit of destruction.”

“But how?” Ethan asked in a low voice. “How can I catch what I cannot see?”

The Messenger’s brown hands fluttered. “Sounds like the riddle of faith. Perhaps faith will give you sight.”
