Chapter 104: And This Shall Be a Sign
When Alpheus halted halfway up the stairs, Ethan turned to see what was wrong. Even standing two steps higher, he was still shorter than the newest member of the Hedge. “Yes?”
Alpheus quietly revealed, “I was told that the first one to reach out to me would need me.”
“You were Sent to your charge… and to me?”
Alpheus nodded.
“Do you know why?”
He shook his head. “But you can count on my support.”
Ethan sheepishly said, “Here I thought you might need me.”
With a sudden smile, Alpheus asked, “How could I not rely upon my first friend?”
