Chapter 100: Peek-a-Boo
Milo’s voice was a whisper in Ethan’s mind. “Come closer, friend.”
Ethan eased up behind the other angel, peering over his shoulder at Zeke. The Messenger hummed a few snatches of a melody the Guardian knew at once—the lullaby he often sang. With a grateful throb of his heart, Ethan joined in.
Midway through the duet, Zeke blinked. When his focus shifted to Ethan’s face, Milo whispered, “Peek-a-boo.”
“He can see me?”
“I think he’s impressed.”
Rosy wings flared wide for balance as he leaned close. “I am here.”
Stretching out one small hand, Zeke grabbed Ethan’s nose. “’Onk.”
